Effect of carnosine on ovarian follicle in rats exposed to electromagnetic field

The electromagnetic field (EMF) has an effect on various organs, including the female reproductive system. purpose of this study was to evaluate impact carnosine ovarian follicle number and diameter in rats exposed a 900 Megahertz (Mhz) field. In study, six different groups were used. 40 divided into evaluated. ovaries removed at end study. Routine histological procedures performed tissues. Follicle all calculated evaluated under light microscope. When primary diameters compared statistically among groups, there remarkably meaningful difference between EMF group control, 20 mg EMF+20 (p<0.05). There significant irregularities structure oocyte granulosa cells surrounding oocyte, especially EMF-treated groups. However, showed more regular group. it can be concluded that follicles decreased may prevent damage caused by EMF.
